Leila Dunning is an experienced, energetic and conscientious architect; a confident designer, strong project manager, and leader with strategic acumen.

Born and raised in West London, now based in South East London and a registered architect for over ten years, Leila and has diverse experience at varied practices in the UK and China, Leila’s experience includes: residential; office; restaurant; retail; hotel; sports; education; signage; lighting; brand; exhibition, and urban design.

LeilaDunning Projects (LD Projects) was established in 2018 to design and deliver classic, quality work. We are an accomplished team who are easy to work with, inspiring and efficient. We have a breadth of good experience and our skill is to carefully respond to each brief with: fresh ideas; elegant forms; knowledge of fine craftsmanship; deft proportions; curated materials; and we anticipate the play of light upon those, as well as changes over time. For every project our approach is both tailored and dynamic.

Our experience covers a wide range of architecture and interior design, for varied clients at all stages — from first thoughts, to completion.

Architecture

We value creative intuition as well as rigorous process and we enjoy the unique complexities of each site, brief and client — with each particular project, or part thereof, we seek to find beautiful solutions. In all we do, we aim to enhance daily life and ultimately, bring joy.

Interiors

As well as architectural detail, we have passion for interior finishes, furniture, art direction and colour. At Michaelis Boyd Architects Leila was project architect for the variously themed interiors and shopfronts of over seven successful Byron Burger restaurants in London; part of the interior architect team for luxury residential apartments at Battersea Power Station; and played an important role in the refurbishment of the Palace Hotel, Manchester.

Building on this experience, at Holland Harvey Architects, Leila was project architect for the shell and interiors refurbishment of a large Clapham townhouse project, ‘Lantern House’ and for the high-profile refurbishment of the iconic grocery store, ‘Panzer’s’ of St John’s Wood.

Ideas

Architectural practice nurtures transferable skills and we are a team of critical thinkers; we enjoy all kinds of projects.

We understand time, cost and quality are a fine balancing act and are comfortable steering project management with each in view.

We care about establishing and maintaining good relationships with every stakeholder in our work – from our clients and users, to their neighbours, to passer’s by, and to future generations. We advocate sustainability and aim to be environmentally responsible.

Clear communication is a priority at every stage of our work and we consider it essential.

We take pleasure in our work and we form part of a network of designers, consultants and contractors who are driven, focused and committed.
